Bald-faced ‘Hornets’ – Wasps
These are not true hornets, they are actually related to yellowjackets but are much larger and with white & black colors. They build exclusively aerial nests that are exposed but wrapped in the ‘paper’ they create by chewing wood into a pulp. These nests are often located in bushes, trees, and on buildings.
Bald-faced Hives on Buildings
While these are sometimes high enough that people do not cross their flightpath they leave an unsightly mess once abandoned and harbor roaches and other pests.
Bald-faced hives in Trees
One of the most common locations for Bald-faced hives. If they are 30 or more feet up in a tree these hives can be difficult to remove and do not pose as much of an issue. But if placed lower on the branches they can definitely pose a threat for people to get stung.
Bald-faced hives in Bushes
The second most common location for Bald-faced Hornet hives and the one area that poses the greatest threat for accidental agitation and stings. Often discovered when trimming the bushes and aggravating the wasps.
Yellowjackets – Wasps
These wasps prefer to nest in cavities whether they are in the ground, structure, or just about anything that protects them from the elements and can be hollowed out with the rare exception for aerial hives. They can even continue growing the hive over multiple years if the conditions are right. They can be aggressive if their hive is disturbed which is easily done with lawn equipment or other small engines unintentionally.

We have made the hornet nest removal process as easy & affordable as we could. First of all, we get the entire hive. We don’t just spray and leave the hive behind. We remove the Queen, Hive, Larva, Pupae and comb.
Typically, not always, if the hive is hanging and looks like the one pictured above then it is probably a Bald Faced Hornet nest. If it is in the ground it is probably a Yellowjacket hive. We remove any hive as long as we can access it.
If the hive is in a wall or inside a structure, it is called a cut-out. We find the least costly way to access the hive and cut into the structure to remove the hornet nest or hive. We leave you with a temporarily patch over the hole so you can have the drywall repaired.
Basic Factors that should help you decide to use us:
- We have some of the lowest prices in town.
- You do not have to be home when we remove it.
- In almost all situations we utilize chemical-free hive removal options. But would ask first if pesticides were the only option.
- We are family-owned & operated.
- We are fully licensed & insured.
